Research Officer (Budget Policy)
PROSPERA is looking for a capable Research Officer to support the Budget Policy Team in providing assistance to the Government of Indonesia to achieve its goal of improving the quality of spending and public financial management.
The Research Officer is expected to support the Senior Economist (Budget Policy Lead) and Economist (Budget Policy) in the following areas: (i) assisting analysis on budget policy, which involve the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of government expenditure at the aggregate level and in selected priority areas (such as, health and social protection); (ii) assisting analysis on consolidated Central and Subnational Government fiscal data; (iii) assisting analysis on the evaluation of regional transfers; and (iv) coordinating with counterparts.

About you (Selection Criteria)
The candidate will possess strong qualifications and experience to support (technical area) and policy making processes, including:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Finance or other related areas. Postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• At least two (2) years’ relevant work experience in the area of economics, public policy, or equivalent areas.
• Strong grip on fundamental macroeconomic and microeconomic concepts.
• Knowledge and experience working on the Indonesian economy and with Indonesian policymakers.
• Excellent written communication skills with fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (both written and oral).
• Proficiency in data processing with statistical software such as STATA. Adept in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proven ability to work independently, and to take initiative to progress deliverables.
About the program
Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment.
The remuneration will be set according to National Remuneration Framework Group C, Job Level 1, for Indonesia national. The remuneration level at which the Research Officer is engaged will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant skills and experience. The role is based in Jakarta- Indonesia.
