The role
The Economist will bring strong economic analytic and policy assessment to Prospera’s support to Government of Indonesia and work with stakeholders across Prospera. The policy analysis will reflect expertise and knowledge of economic policymaking, particularly in the Indonesian context. It is envisaged that the Economist will focus on a broad policy analytical agenda with strength in at least one of the following areas: macroeconomics, fiscal, and financial stability. The economist is expected to provide expert input, produce analytical works, and work closely with Prospera’s technical counterparts.

About you (Selection Criteria)
The candidate will possess strong qualifications and experience as follows:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in economics and quantitative analysis.
  • Proven expertise in economics evident in work experience. Experience in analysing the Indonesian economy and/or other economies.
  • Knowledge and experience working on the Indonesian economy and with Indonesian policymakers. Understanding of Indonesia’s macro fiscal issue is a plus.
  • Computing proficiency in one or more statistical and data management software such as R, Stata, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (both written and oral), including advocacy and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to write a concise report in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

About the program
Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment.

The remuneration will be set according to National Remuneration Framework (NRF) Discipline Group C, Job Level 2 open for Indonesia nationals. The remuneration level at which the Economist is engaged will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
